This Day in Film: September 14

Today I honour, maybe not the best actor, but a lot of people’s favourite.  After he played Danny Zuko in a Broadway production of Grease, he became a full-fledged movie star.  He became a success over the course of his career and after some say his best role, he influenced pop culture so much that his last name became a slang.  I am of course talking about the one, the only, Patrick Swayze.  Affectionately named Buddy, Patrick has starred in movies such as Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Donnie Darko (and actually one of my childhood favourites), Tall Tale.  He passed away this day in 2009, so a moment of silence for a great actor, and a great guy.
